insieme al nome della Gladstone Gallery.

Melotti nacque al inizio del novecento, punto al 1901 -- la sua familia di origini musicali.

Da bambino all'accademia studiò la musica, la fisica, e la matematica.

"I Magnifici Sette" si riferisce alle sette categorie degli studi umanistici

preso da greca antica.

Ora al Castello Sforzesco, museo storico e archeologico di Milano, sono esposte le statue

del artista contemporaneo Christian Zucconi, che raccontano e raffigurano i corpi feriti di

Edipe Re, Salomé, et al. La mostra, intitolata "Rivoluzione Kenoclastica," parla del processo tecnico di rompere la scultura finita e di svuotarne i pezzi. Nelle mani di Zucconi, il rosso travertino persiano che forma i corpi delle statue diventa invece un medium leggero, adatto a raccontare in uno stile dato ai frammenti, alle fratture e suture.

Le figure, scioccanti, scandalosi al pubblico, resteranno al museo fino al 25 aprile.

Questa frase si applica senza dubbio alle Mappe del artista

Torinese Alighiero e Boetti.

Ora, a Gladstone Gallery, un omaggio a questa serie memorabile dal artista

famoso per il suo coinvolgimento con 

il movimento d'arte concettuale arte povera.

Boetti spesso riferisce a queste opere con una frase interessante:

'mettere al mondo il mondo'.  Le Mappe, con le sue differenze e particolarità, 

rivelano i confini mutevoli di un mondo formato dalla 

demarcazione politica.

Art often enters, forcibly, into the sphere of politics. 

This sentence applies without a doubt to the Mappe of

the Torino-based artist Alighiero e Boetti.

Now, at Gladstone Gallery, an homage to this memorable series

by the artist known for his involvement

with the conceptual art moviment known as Arte Povera.

Boetti often refers to these works with an interesting sentence:

"mettere al mondo il mondo" (literally, putting to the world the world).

The Mappe, with their differences and particularities,

reveal the mutable borders of a world formed by

political demarcation.

Come la tua narratrice humile, ADR è di origine Pugliese, pure ha fatto il Master's nella letteratura e la storia dell'arte (faceva il professore Gianfranco Ferrè). Si definisce come "collezionista" della moda alta. ADR anche fa la musa per i bloggers The Sartorialist, Garance Doré, ed al. Insomma, la sua presenza intensa e il suo corraggio con i colori e le trame la mettono al di là della folla esasperante della moda.

Of course I'm talking about Anna Dello Russo, the statuesque and aristocratic editrix of Vogue Nippon. Like your humble narrator, ADR is of Apulian origin, and even received a Master's in Literature and Art History( Gianfranco Ferre was her professor). She describes herself as a "collector" of haute couture. Dello Russo is also the muse for bloggers the Sartorialist, Garance Doré, et al. In this aspect, her intense presence and fearlessness when it comes to mixing colors and textures place her far beyond fashion's madding crowd.

Appena letto l'articolo sul Museo d'Arte di Chiancino Terme nel New York Times, e voglio sapere più del progetto, eppure più del suo organizzatore, Roberto Gagliardi. Gagliardi fa gallerista a Londra, però ha deciso di fondare il suo museo nel borgo inaspettato di Chiancino, vicino a Siena nella regione di Toscana. Fra gli artisti rappresentati al museo c'è Goya, Dali, Rembrandt (tutti disegni), e anche l'arte asiatica dai paesi come Afghanistan e Cina. Antico e fresco, moderno e tradizionale, il museo di Gagliardi mi pare un bel omaggio al paese in cui tutti questi paradossi fiorono in abbondanza.

After reading about the Museum of Art Chiancino Terme in the New York Times, I'd like to know more about the project and more still of its organizer, Roberto Gagliardi. Gagliardi is an Italian gallerist based in London; however, he decided to found his museum collection in the small, unexpected town of Chiancino, close to Siena in the region of Tuscany. Among the represented artists in the museum are Goya, Dali, Rembrandt (all drawings), and also Asian art from countries like Afghanistan and China. Ancient and fresh, modern and traditional, Gagliardi's museum seems to me a beautiful homage to the country in which all these paradoxes flourish in great abundance.
